Just want to wish all you guys a happy new year, and hope you have an awesome 2008. Sorry for like my lack in new stuff, somewhat busy with wok and studies, but ya, I'll be back with new stuff soon :)
Anyway, I couldn't have started 2008 in a better way, spent the end of 2007 and the first dawn of 08 at a private function (i.e. party with music entertainment and a carvary buffet) was awesome, but what made it better were the people there, 2 guys who I haven't seen in like 3 years and a girl I went to school with like 6+ years ago, and general family and friends. So ya, was pretty nice :)
As for today, went to Old Trafford where the game was a little sloppy at times and United got away with a 1-0 win over Birmingham... shitty refereeing
So ya, to 2008

Yep, I'm home from a pretty awesome vacation in Tsilivi, Zakynthos. The first thing worth mentioning that occurred was really unexpected (maybe uber is a more appropriate word lol). There we were, passing through passport control/ the hand luggage scanner thing in Manchester when this loud siren went off and a voice was saying to evacuate the area (in so many words). So all the shops got closed down, and everyone is led to this secluded area (which I’m sure was the arrivals passport control). It was pretty well handled with no casualties and very few people panicking, but I’d assume that the recent events at Glasgow would have been on the minds of many. Anyway, after about 20 minutes we were all allowed to go back to were we were going, and my dad found out that somebody had lit up in a toilet (which I doubt), but either way, it was handled well. After that the flight and arrival went smoothly.
Anyway, about the hotel, we stayed in like the best room in the hotel (had like a huge living room thing) with some nice furniture, and we had a pretty big tub in the bathroom :). Everything was really neat, and the room was cleaned pretty much everyday. Which was nice.
The hotel in general was really well kept, nice pool, friendly staff, and generally neat.
Got to grips with the good ol' Ouzo once again, :aww: ish good lol. Went to some really good restaurants with traditional cuisine (I seriously don't understand why people pay to go abroad just to eat at McDonalds or KFC, do they think that it'll taste different?).
The beach was gorgeous, and the sea crystal with a cloudless sky, ah I'm depressing myself :( lol. But seriously, it was a thing of beauty.
The bars provided some good entertainment, with mainly live music. One live show in particular was this tribute group called Tusk who played various rock-esque songs, and played them well. But what mainly stood out was that they substituted the use of drums with bongos due to ‘sound violations’ (or possibly the fact that the bar owner didn’t have a live entertainment licence, or maybe that’s just me.) Anyway, they were awesome and good entertainment. Another good live act was at the same bar, but was done by the bars owner, which was various swing songs (i.e. Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, etc). Surprisingly though, he had a great voice, and threw in a few funny comments now and again about a wine they were selling exclusively to the bar. Good times when drinking Ouzo.
Another fun thing was renting a boat for the day (again). And that was really relaxing and awesome, though kinda sucked that the guy who rented it out to us, never really told us our limitations and so we nearly got us into some trouble with an aggressive life guard aswell as some other people (according to the big boss..who was this greying little Greek fella) and cost us a half hour… which could have alternatively been spent on Ouzo or food . Was fun though.
Visited Laganas again to see some old friends at this restaurant we visited 5 years ago. They all seemed in good spirits, but weren’t to happy at the fact (this applied to many places) of losing business to McDonalds and other fast food chains, due to all the youth on the island (but supposedly in a few years, the island is to be more family orientated again, like a happy medium for all parties).
Did loads of other stuff, met loads of other people, saw many nice views (in more ways than one), and visited loads of other places. But I want to go back now
That’s pretty much it, any of you guys have/having a holiday this summer?
